Ane + Philip | Cecil Peak Elopement
Ane + Philip knew a big wedding was never for them, so they decided to travel Queenstown for a weekend of exploring the South Island, 30th birthday celebrations and to get married. Clearly, they are very pragmatic and productive people to fit all of those things into a single weekend but man.. dd they do it right!
We met at their hotel and already I could tell we wold be fast friends, laughing about themselves, coming up with clever and crazy ways to get a dress on without messing up makeup. There was endless laughter about how good they were at being directed in front of the camera for detail shots. The Earnslaw even perfectly timed itself to pass just as we were taking the final photos!
Next we spent some time at the shore of the Wakatipu and in the forest of Queenstown Park before heading up Cecil Peak for the ceremony. We dodged disk gold player, hit behind tress and spend some time taking in the waves and sun. It was the perfect way to really get present during all the excitement of the day.
Once we finally made it up the mountain, we were all speechless. The snow was still pretty thick on the hills and it felt like we were on a completely other planet, away from Queenstown, away from town, anyway from anyone. Cecil Peak looking over the surrounding mountains of Queenstown was the perfect place for Any + Philip to elope. If I were to start again, this would be the exact wedding day I would be after.
Intimate, simple and beautiful. The way an elopement in Queenstown it should be. xx
